I have just returned from...

Israel

I have just returned from a two-week trip around Israel, one of the most fascinating places to be right now with a geopolitical scene that cannot fail to intrigue. My visit threw up far more questions that it answered and I’m already keen to return. From observing the idiosyncrasies of daily life in the ultra-orthodox neighbourhoods of Jerusalem, sampling cutting-edge cuisine in buzzing Tel Aviv and attempting to understand the realities of Palestinians living in the West Bank, I visited historic sights and hidden corners, and found Israel to be a fascinating, vibrant and intense destination.

Japan

Japan has long held a total fascination for me. The intricacies and elegance of its age-old traditions and culture combined with the break-neck speed of progress in its super cities make it one of the most enigmatic destinations in the world.
